Lamb of God

Lamb of God - quilt - Patty Arensen

Lamb of  God

24h x 21w

Red is central to Christianity as it is the color of blood. In the Old Testament, the blood of a perfect lamb covered over the people’s’ sin. In the New Testament, Jesus became the perfect lamb provided by God. His blood takes away the sin of the believer. “The blood of Jesus, God’s Son, purifies us from all sin.” I John 1: 7

“Lamb of God,” is accepted into Studio Art Quilt Associates(SAQA) “Color in Context: RED” exhibit. The description of this exhibit is as follows: “Ever since our earliest ancestors began applying iron oxide to cave walls and their bodies, the color red has played a major role in art, rituals, and spirituality. The use of red can evoke excitement, danger, anger or love in the West. The color red is associated with purity in India, and in China it traditionally symbolizes luck. Red is also a primary color, crucial to the creation of other hues.”

“Lamb of God” is taking on a life of its own in this exhibit which will open at the Quilt Festival Houston, November 2, 2024 and will tour through December 2026, locations TBA.
